A friend and I met for lunch last week at Momma Rabbit’s. Now, I had been there for brunch a couple of times but never for lunch; my friend, who just moved here from Salt Lake City, Utah, had never been. So before I get to the wonderful lunch we had, I want to tell you her reaction when we walked in – She was grinning from ear to ear. She couldn’t believe that it was so cute and charming and soooo “Southern.” I died laughing because I had forgotten that she is just being introduced to our cheerful, southern ways. It really is the cutest restaurant with all the little rabbits strategically placed – not real ones of course.
As usual Momma Rabbit’s didn’t disappoint. We both had the Resting Peach Face Salad. YUMMMMMMMM. This particular entrée is seasonal; it’s only served when our “good ole’ southern peaches” are in season. It’s a bed of mixed greens topped with local peaches, candied pecans, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, and chicken with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. I’ll say it again, YUMMMMMMM. My suggestion is to hurry and go before the peaches are gone!!!
